This mug features the logo for the Nixon Library's exhibition Apollo 11: One Giant Leap for Mankind. On July 20, 1969, the Apollo 11 spaceflight landed the first two people on the Moon. As the world watched, Astronaut Neil Armstrong set foot on the lunar surface and acknowledged it as "one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind." Shortly after landing, Astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin spoke with President Richard Nixon through a telephone-radio transmission which Nixon called "the most historic phone call ever made from the White House."
